No one's gonna love you more than I do

I've been so happy lately!! I'll soon be seeing my favorite person in the whole world! hihi

To update recent event; black and white suprise party for Tim! I didn't really know the guy - I thought, I eventually found out that he is in my American History class, hehe. Amilia rented a location here to suprise him. A bunch of people showed up so we all suprised him big time.

Dani, Jeff and I. Maik, the exchange student from Germany is the photographer here, hehe
Dani, Sanne, Amilia and another girl (can't remember her name)
We've been cleaning the hole house today for Halloween, but we took a break to go and watch high school musical 3!! I loved it, childish as I am, hihi. John is taking me to dinner tonight, so I better get going to get ready. He's a nice guy so it should be fun!
Take care,
Mariell

Spirit week and Homecoming

Finally back on track here! Garry just fixed the network, hehe and you know me; I ran straight to the computer - addicted as I am. Well, there's been so much fun going on so I'm just gonna start of and show pictures and write a long with it.

LANCERS PARADE:
Students from my school who wants to be in the army, 50-50 boys and girls.

Shawnee Mission East was celebrating our 50 anniversary! So we had a big parade close by our school. Every grade had made their own float and they dressed up as decades from the 50s, 60s, 70s etc. There was a float party at thursday, but a girl I know surely had to study for a big spanish test, heh - geek as I am. This was a nice ending of our spirit week, we dressed up differently every day (sports theme, colors day, the 80s, color clash, Lancers clothing). It was music all over school in between classes from decades in the past, so fun!

LABSTER SELLING FOR VOLUNTERS:
YES IT'S ALIVE!! hahah, I was so freakin' proud! Every year the exchange students help Shawnee Mission East to sell labsters for people so we can raise money for our school. So saturday morning I woke up 7.30 am. to sell those jukky creatures! I carried at least 5 of them (there was about 50 labsters there, and we sold all of them, I know it sounds weird, haha) It was a hilarious moment, I mean - I've only seen living labster at Ica or Meny in Norway in a fish tank! haha

Dale holding the labster way too close, it's discusting haha
Exchange students and American students selling the labsteeers
HOMECOMING:
- Before the dance

Shelbi and I had so much fun dressing up, I can't remember the last time I was so excited about a event.
My hair after being styled at the hair saloon. I've always done my hair self, so it was fun to not do it this time!
Me waiting for Drew, hihi
Shelbi and I in the backyard, she's gorgeous!!
-Pictures taken before our fancy dinner
My homecoming group! (click on the pictures if you want to see 'em closer)
Tha gyaaals

-The dance
Me and Drew at the dance! He was such a fun date to have. I've never met a guy who puls my chair out when I want to sit or opens the car door for me. I definitely was treated like a princess for a day.

- After the homecoming dance

Me, Grace and Margaret
we all went to drew's and had fun there, hehe! Then I spent the night at Mary's

Drew and I agaaain

Homecoming was more fun than I thought it would be! Next time it's mine turn to ask a guy for a school dance here, that's gonna be interesting haha. Let me know if you have a cute way for me to ask!

okidokismoki, I'm going to take a shower and then go to bed!
Miss you all, hugs and kisses,
Mariell.

Eventful weekend

I was off from school on friday which helped me a lot, finally some time to sleep in. I spent thursday evening at Michael's with Meg, Lucy, Katie, John, Stephen etc. We sat in his yard around the bonfire and just talked the hole evening, cozy cozyyy.
Here's pictures from the weekend:
Friday
Jennifer and I outside the location at the hotel
Jennifer's mom and dad, they hosted the celebration of Tawians nationalday.
The mayor of Kansas/Missouri
Saturday
Shelbi and I shopped all day long from 10.30 am. to 7 pm. Lauren and Gloria was with us too, Lauren had a little photoshoot here with us, hehe she's so sweet. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff that I needed: Vintercoat, homecoming shoes and purse, make-up stuff, some sweaters etc. But the best buy was this juicy couture thingy for my ipod;
I have the coolest ipod in the world now!!
After we dropped off Lauren at our house with Garry, the rest of the girls went out to eat dinner before we contiuned shopping!

Sunday
The hole family went out to pick a pumpkin each, Haloween is right around the corner.
Shelbi had the lovely idea that we could go through a corn maze. Well after 2 minutes we got pretty tired and sick of it, so when we first got in we used all of our time to find our way out.
Garry - the photographer as usual!
Lauren and her friend - Caroline, picking their pumkin.
Im gonna finish up eating my salad, then it's time to do some homework. Im excited about the following week that's coming up, it's only 6 days to homecoming you know!
See ya,
Mariell

Shawnee Mission East; fall concert

My first choir concert is over. This year is all about new experiences and this is definitely a new one, can't say that my choir experience through 2nd to 4th grade counts compared to this, heh.

lil' sis and I before the concert
Luckely I found a decent skirt for the occasion when I went shopping with Anna.
a bit blurred, but oh well. at least you can see that it's turning to fall here, we still wear flip flops though - weird combination.

Katie Fay and I excited before the performance! I must confess; I squeezed her hand pretty tight when we were singing. It was a bit overwhelming yeah; the sound of a choir with 125 students and nearly 600 parents starring and watching you. Oh Jessy - a girl in the choir fainted three times during the concert, drama drama! But other than that everything went smoothly. I had so much fun! The choir that im in is like one of the best high school choirs in the country.(Gloria taped the hole thing so don't worry my beloved family.)

oooo and guess what? I found a videotape on youtube of this years boys soccer team! It's from several games that I've been to and since I now know some of the guys it's especially fun to watch; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzfPPDZ7OcM The coach is Mr.Kelly - my math teacher. (He's sitting in my math classroom) In the middle of the tape there's a bunch of people running on the field, im there somewhere in the crowd, haha. This was a bit off topic but I just had to share it with the one's that interested to see a little bit from my school and their spirit.
LANCERS PRIDE; COLOMBIA BLUE, BLACK AND WHITE.

During seminar today we watched the nominated students for homecoming walk around the gym, they all looked so handsome and cute! I noticed that our big rival is the ravens (so freakin cool) cause we have signs of our rivals in the gym. We're off from school on friday, so I'll send adr for people who needs it. Oh, Im invited to this really fancy and formal dinner on friday. My friend, Jennifer, her dad is the ambassador of Taiwan here in kansas, so he's hosting a big dinnerparty cause it's Taiwan's national day.

It's time to go back to math. I totally forgot that I had math homework due for tomorrow in addition to my math test, english test aaaand spanish homework (and yes this is all due for tomorrow). Studdying for my life here, heh.

I'll catch up later,
Mariell.

Today and future plans

My school day today went nicely. I had photography and that's always fun, a bit challenging though. I was picked out to be in the yearbook for fashion - or Europian fashion. They had to take pictures of my flip flop shoes so I told them to photoshop my toes haha. And hey, I've found my homecoming dress, but the shoes remain. My choir concert is on monday, so I'm definitely taking pictures of that day.

Hmm there's a lot of things going on right now, I'm mean, we're already in october! Only two more weeks now and I've been here for 3 months, amazing! Another thing, I'm going to take my driver's license if it's possible, so excited!! And another thing to look forward to is my Hawaii trip, it's all set, I'm leaving 25th of February to stay there for 8 days.

I really can't wait to my mom and grandma is coming over for graduation, May 16th. it's going to be the best ending of my year in The U.S

Well, we're gonna eat mexican food now - Garry have been cooking all day while he's been listening to Amy Winehouse, hahah he really is something.

Talk to you soon,
Mariell.
